How To Do A Steam Cleansing & Hydrating Facial

Weekend jobs are equally multi-tasking – from running around to grocery store, unpacking and preserving woollens to shopping a nice gift for your husband. Good heavens, what about your face? Sadly enough, the busy bees have less time to devote to their face except cleansing and moisturising them, off and on. But there is nothing more relaxing and pampering than doing a steam cleansing and facial at home. Start this beauty trick today, and see how glowing you look without facing the expenditure of a beauty salon. It works wonders and needs no formal training.

Before we start, it is important to know about the fundamentals of a beauty job. Two things are a must – water and steam. It is these two elements that play a major role in skin cleansing and hydration.
Step 1: Face Cleansing
Cleansing the skin is the first step in any beauty treatment. First of all, pull back your hair with the help of a hair band. Now use a gentle cleanser (no soap please!) to wipe out the hidden dirt and grime from your face.
 Step 2: Face Steaming
Heat up some water in a large bowl, put a towel on your head and bring your face closer to the steam rising from the bowl for about 5 minutes. If you are interested in a rejuvenating steam, add herbal extracts such as green tea or mint leaves to the water. This will help detoxify and hydrate your skin and open up your pores for a deep clean skin.

Step 3: Face Exfoliation
While your face is wet, get a tube of exfoliating facial scrub and gently apply it in circular motions over your face. Put more focus on areas around your forehead and nose and avoid delicate skin around your eyes.

Step 4: Face Rinsing
Rinse the scrub off with warm water. Now that it is done put some astringent to close the pores.
 Step 5: Place Cucumbers
Put cucumber slices over your eyes and lie down with nice music playing in the background. Close your eyes with slices over them, and relax for few minutes.

Step 6: Apply Moisturizer
It is time now to pat a light moisturizer on the face and neck. The key to massaging the face is to keep moving the hands up, never down as that can pull at the skin.
Follow this face maintenance regularly at home and preferably after a gap of week or ten days to get that awesome shine you see on your best friend’s face.
